I’ve been creating art all my life and I’ve been pro ridged to study under some great artists but I’ve never had so much fun as I had with Milena. She has pushed my boundaries and encouraged me to be creative in ways I’ve never tried before, and I’m loving every minute.

I have been taking mixed media art classes with Milena for six months – all I can say is, if you are looking for an art instructor/mentor, look no further. She has a great understanding of the creative process can guide students one step at a time to create the most amazing pieces. Her teaching style is balanced – lots of support, and some challenges; allowing you do be totally free to do what you want, and providing feedback if is happens to be going in the wrong direction. And she does it all with a great sense of humour and an amazing European flair.
Classes are small, with people of all ages, levels and backgrounds and she has a gift for making everyone feel at ease and comfortable with each other.

I had been looking for new art classes for a while when I found Milena. Why is she the best art teacher out there? Because she takes students at the level of experience they are at and help them move along. I like that after some basic (and fun) exercises of drawing and/or sketching, she encourages students to look at subject that they connect with and guide them along the art making process. She encourages individuality by supporting students in their choice of subjects and or medium. Who wants to sit in an art class with everyone working on the same project anyway?
She helped me learn new skills but also, to think through the creating process as opposed to just executing something. She would question my thinking to help me move beyond the learning blocks. I never thought I could draw but she helped me learn step by step without feeling overwhelmed. What I like the most is that she creates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in her Toronto studio; her flexibility allows for a great mix of beginners and experienced students and she can bring the best out of them! She takes time with everyone and guide us as we progress and we see her students’ work evolving for sure. I feel she is a true teacher with great experience and her students benefit from it.

J’ai aimé, pourquoi ? parce que c’était à chaque fois court, précis, expliqué avec clarté, donnant la possibilité d’essayer rapidement différents petites natures mortes. Que le fusain est un médium qui me plaît, sa texture, sa sorte de “légèreté” dans le trait. Puis l’essai de la peinture. Donc, en un cours d’essai cela permet à quelqu’un qui n’en jamais fait d’avoir déjà une bonne idée de ce que cela peut être, et aussi, de ta façon d’aborder individuellement chaque personne. J’ai apprécié cela.
