Who are you and what do you do?
Gordana is my name. Painting and drawing is what I do.

Why Art? Why did you wish to paint/draw in the first place?
Art comes in many forms. Everyone expresses it differently. Somehow the pencils and brushes in my hand become alive and lead me trough the paper and canvas trough high emotions right to some calm place.

How long have you been painting/drawing?

The end of each school year, on the last day, I would close myself in my room and draw for hours…that was a huge relief from the year of studying and tests…it was my own award for the successful year…so I have always been friend with pencils and crayons.

What inspires you?
Life ( in events ) and nature ( in colours) offer abundance of inspiration. In every painting there is a part of me…my life as it was or is.

Who is your favorite artist? What type of art do you prefer?
Favorite artist is not one chosen for life. Living is a process of evolution. I started with Da Vinci…Fechin…impressionists…
Now the style that excites me is wabi-sabi and that’s what I want to do

What’s the best thing about spending time in the studio?
Studio is ready for a mess.
Studio is conversation with others about Art.
Studio is where new inspiration easily comes to realization.
Go in… and work… no preparation.

What do you like the most about the art classes with Art Doncheva Studio?
It is a very inspiring place to be. The setting is so inviting. Walls are full with amazing art from Milena. It calls everyone to do the best one can … easels, paints… so much around to work with…inspiring leadership of Milena…and the artistic resting area…the breaks with coffee and tea I like a lot .
